Last Saturday’s inaugural PTA race night was a run-away success as the runners and riders gathered in the Upper School hall to have fun, meet friends, enjoy the odd light refreshment (or two) and support the school – including a night off from their children!
Around 60 people attended and the tables were set for an evening of tension and drama as we all wagered on which horse would win one of the 9 races that were run – some over the jumps and some on the flat. It was good fun and a great chance for parents to let their hair down and enjoy the evening, with the event culminating in an auctioned final race with £120 prize for the winning table!
We raised a fantastic £1200 for the school, an amazing achievement and a great addition towards funds for our ‘Centre for the Arts’.
Thanks so much to all of those who came, helped and supported the race night and made the evening a great success!
We would like to invite you to attend our Race Night. Doors open at 7.00pm and the races start at 7.30pm. Adult only tickets are £5 each and include 1 free drink at the bar.
There will be a bar selling a selection of wines, beers, soft drinks and bar snacks.
What is a Race night?
The night is very much like a day at Ascot, but without the risk of rain and the expensive drinks!
Throughout the night there will be 8 horse race videos played on a projector screen. You can bet on each race, just like you would at Ascot and if your horse wins, you win too!
It is great fun and you’ll find everyone will be encouraging their horse to win. It is perfect to enjoy with a group of friends or come along to meet new friends.
Tickets will be on sale from the school via a form available from the atrium, one will also come home with your children in the first week back at school.

Unfortunately due to a shortage of ticket sales we have postponed the Race Night for October until the New Year.
We will arrange a new night, at a less buy time, and let you know the date ASAP.
We are very grateful to everyone who bought a horse or sponsored a race and we hope you’ll let us keep your details (and money) for the rescheduled Race Night.
If you have bought a ticket, please keep hold of it for the next night or if you can’t make it, we will refund the ticket.
