Race Night Update

Unfortunately due to a shortage of ticket sales we have postponed the Race Night for October until the New Year.

We will arrange a new night, at a less buy time, and let you know the date ASAP.

We are very grateful to everyone who bought a horse or sponsored a race and we hope you’ll let us keep your details (and money) for the rescheduled Race Night.

If you have bought a ticket, please keep hold of it for the next night or if you can’t make it, we will refund the ticket.

Christmas Fair – 21st Nov

Kick off the Christmas Season with the Wessex Christmas Fair on Saturday 21st November 11-2pm

As well as the very popular Tombolas, pocket money games, face painting and tattoos, there will also be stalls with lovely ideas for gifts; a food court offering a mouth-watering selection of hot and cold food and drinks, the very popular photo booth (put your lippy on and your cheesiest Christmas jumper!) and a crafts room where you will be able to make, decorate and post your letter to Father Christmas.

And for the first time, this year we will be having our very own ‘Great Wessex Bake Off’ with a money prize for the classroom with the most cakes donated and an individual category for the yummiest cake, so get your bake on!

As ever, volunteers to help before, during and after the event are welcome. Email the PTA on to let us know you can help.

All the fun of the fair

On Saturday, it was all the fun of the fair as the PTA’s annual fund raiser was blessed with sunshine and good weather. At a slightly earlier time, we welcomed almost 900 children and adults to Wessex for a relaxed and enjoyable community event.

We were entertained by maypole dancers, Glee Club singers, ukulele playing musicians, keep fitters and hip hop dancers.

The burgers sold out, the bar did a roaring trade (especially the Pimms), the Lions Train chugged around the field and the wellies? Well, they were whanged with enthusiasm!

It was a fabulous event and I would like to thank the dedicated PTA team for bringing it all together so successfully, raising an amazing £3000 for the school in the process. Well done ladies (and gents) and thank you.
