To raise funds for the school and as entertainment for the children, the PTA have organised a movie afternoon playing Despicable Me (as voted by the children on the School Council) to be shown Friday 2nd February straight after school in the Upper School Hall.
Pick up will be 5pm.
Please buy your tickets from Scopay (available from Friday 19th January), £3 per child which will include a serving of popcorn. Tickets will be limited so please buy early to avoid disappointment.
Parents are welcome to stay and we would welcome extra help too please. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Cath or Gemma via Facebook to let us know if you’ll be attending too.
Please ensure your child has a water bottle that we can refill if needed.
Sorry this Thank you has taken a few days coming, we wanted to be able to tot up the floats and give you all a fairly final figure too.
There were a lot of slots to fill this year but we did it, thanks to all of you that signed up and got involved giving the Christmas Fair an amazing array of stalls, games and activities. There was a great buzz and atmosphere with everyone pitching in, even some extras who stepped in on the day itself as they could see the Bottle Tombola was going crazy! We couldn’t have done it without you all (and your kids) support and donations, and it makes it all worthwhile when you see everyone enjoying themselves. Your help was really appreciated and the Year Group stalls, activities, Grotto, Raffle and catering brought in a lot of profit for the school.
Thank you also to everyone that came along and supported the school on the day by emptying their pockets, a very crucial role!
We’ve received loads of lovely feedback. Happy to hear more of your feedback (good or constructive) on this very quick survey https://tinyurl.com/xmasfair2017Survey
We raised a fantastic £3283.88 for the school PTA funds. This allows the PTA to give the Teachers an amount to spend on a present for each classroom and Nursery, plus Christmas Crackers and drinks for the Christmas festivities in school.
Other recent fundings include Playground Development, Mathletics Subscriptions and possibly a large amount needed for the school minibus so you can see how important these funds are.
Thanks again for all your support. If anyone would like to keep more up to date with PTA involvements please also join the PTA Committee Facebook group:
A HUGE Thank you to all the children who put in such great efforts creating posters for the Fair. As you’ll be able to see from the Posters around the school it was really hard to choose the top 3 for the winning Grotto tickets, but the winners are:
– Inaaya Fontanelle
– James Berry
– Talea & Alexea Moraitis
The PTA will be printing you an Advance ticket for 11am 2nd December so you can be first in to see Santa in the grotto. No other tickets will be given out in advance, it will be first come first served on the day. Thank you!
If anyone is able to PRINT this poster and DISPLAY in their car or house window between now and the Christmas Fair please click on these links for a better quality
Would be so lovely to see this everywhere you drive around Cox Green and encourage other members of our community to visit our school!

Would you like to help the PTA boost their fundraising capabilities to a much higher level, without any extra effort?
Do you work for a company that offers matched funding or allows employees time off to do charitable work or makes donations to local charities?
Wessex Primary School PTA is a registered charity (number 1041997) and would love to be able to benefit from this generosity.
Next time you are at work, please check your work Intranet, ask your Boss, HR or Office Manager whether your company is interested in setting up a scheme, or already has one. The PTA would love to hear from you!
This is such a HUGE fundraising opportunity that could really benefit your child’s education.
|Match funding (match giving) is where the company pledges a sum of money relating the amount raised by an employee, or by an event. Sometimes they’ll match it £ for £, or they might give a fixed amount.
Time off for charitable work – often larger companies will allow their employees a set number of days off during the working week to take part in charitable activities. For example, my employer allows us 2 days per year to take part in charity work, and that’s in addition to our annual leave! Useful activities for our school could be re-painting classrooms, manning a stall for a PTA event, xxx etc.
Sponsorship / donations – a company may offer to sponsor a specific item or event. In return they’ll get some free advertising. For example, donating funds, sponsoring a minibus, providing food for a BBQ, prizes for a raffle etc.
A google search can provide a list of company names who offer match funding (large shops like M&S, pharmaceutical or telecoms companies, banks/building societies, supermarkets) but even your smaller independent employer might like to be involved.
If you work for one of those companies then they may already have a procedure to follow on their intranet, or they will ask you (employee) to complete a request form. If this is not the case, please ask the company to put their pledge in writing to the PTA and email it through to PTA@wessexprimary.org
Your help is hugely appreciated in accessing these potentially very large extra funds for Wessex PTA and all the pupils.
The children can bring party clothes to change into on the day and they will be collected from their classroom at 4:30pm as usual.
- Y3 & Y4: 4:45 – 5:45
- Y5 & Y6: 6 – 7pm
Drop off and collection to the US Hall.
£2.50 per child which will include a glow stick and a drink.
Last year this event was hugely successful and a great little earner for the school. Put the date in your diary, come along, shop and socialise!
